S. & C. 2.0 32" x 62" acrylic on canvas (sold) (

Born in the midwestern united states, DL hit the road at age 19 to tour as a musician all across the US and Europe. He first visited Alaska in 1989 while touring with the band "Pretty Boy" and subsequently returned with the group "Mariah", whose albums still sell around the world today. In 1995 he moved his home to the great state and opened "Alaska Hit Factory," a recording studio where he produced multiple award winning projects.

Looking for a new outlet for his creativity, in 1996 DL began to experiment by painting murals on the walls of his recording studio. Enjoying his newfound expression, he soon after moved to canvas.

Today, the work is large scale acrylic on canvas. The frames are hand made from hard woods and gallery wrapped one-by-one. The bold, contrasting colors and careful layering give the paintings an evocative sense of depth which is very difficult to photograph.
